DESCRIPTION

Vitamin D3 Complete 5000 is formulated to respect the crucial importance of balancing vitamin D with vitamin A, especially for those who know they require extra vitamin D. When your levels of vitamin D have become more optimal with this supplement which may take a month or two or more for some people, it may well be appropriate to revert to the lower dose Vitamin D3 Complete which provides 2,000 iu of vitamin D.

This supplement also contains the other oil-soluble vitamins: K2 (menaquinone-7) and DeltaGOLD® tocotrienols (part of the vitamin E family), completing the 4 fat-soluble vitamins.

The formulation is based on the understanding that repletion and maintenance of vitamin D levels is best accomplished with modest, regular doses of vitamin D, balanced by vitamin A, and this may better support vitamin D’s interaction with the many kinds of tissues in the human body that have vitamin D receptors. Vitamin D3 Complete 5000 is in a natural base of sustainably-sourced palm oil.

WHY TAKE A VITAMIN D SUPPLEMENT?

For only 6 months of the year in the UK, sunlight provides the UVB rays that are required for activating Vitamin D in the skin. If one is not exposing enough of one’s skin to the UVB rays then a lack of vitamin D is likely, since research shows that a significant proportion of the population are deficient in Vitamin D. Equally, one needs to ensure that one does not burn in the sun due to excessive exposure to sunlight.

Much research has been undertaken on understanding the role of vitamin D within the body over the past 5 or so years. Its benefits are numerous, and deficiency is widespread and its safety profile is extremely high. While the importance of vitamin D for musculoskeletal health is well documented, its importance in numerous other aspects of health are now recognised. They include (but are not limited to) immune and cardiovascular health.

Therefore, the argument to take additional amounts of vitamin D in supplement form is strongly compelling.

Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, 1 capsule daily with a meal, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.

Caution: For higher dose supplementation of vitamin D, we recommend regular testing of vitamin D blood levels.
