Ashwagandha (Withnia somnifera) provides withanolides as its active ingredient. The plant is a well-known adaptogen and popular in Ayurvedic practice, where it is revered as a Rasayana (tonic). It has been well studied and has been found to have a GABA mimetic effect, to promote the formation of dendrites, to have anxiolytic effects, to have anti-inflammatory effects and to improve energy levels and mitochondrial health.
When high levels of bioactive withanolides are combined with extracts of holy basil, rhodiola & licorice & ginger, there is at least an additive if not synergistic adaptogenic effect, particularly with regard to a healthy response to stress.
The water extraction process is based on “Green-Chemistry” principles, without using alcohol or any other chemical solvents.
Directions for use
As a food supplement, take 1 capsule daily with a meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
