DESCRIPTION
Niacin is also known as nicotinic acid, and is an essential vitamin.
Niacin is positioned at the core of NAD/NADH and NADP/NADPH, which are major redox-active "electron storage" compounds. One or both of these "redox pairs" is involved in every major biochemical pathway.
Niacin has been found to help lower elevated levels of cholesterol.
Suggested Use: As a dietary supplement, 1 capsule two or three times daily with meals, or as directed by a healthcare practitioner.
WARNING: Niacin (nicotinic acid) can cause skin flushing and tingling (the "niacin flush"). This is not a bad or dangerous thing, but rather can be unpleasant for some. Levels as low as 20mg can lead some people to flush, so it is best to build up to the dose within this capsule (250mg) esp when taken away from food. One becomes accustomed to the flushing and it then takes higher doses to elicit this reaction.
Inositol Hexanicotinate does not cause a flushing effect. See product, code 70370.
Niacinamide does not cause flushing.
Do NOT take doses of higher than 1.5 gms of niacin without consulting your healthcare practitioner.
Keep in a cool, dry place, tightly capped.
Directions for use
As a food supplement, 1 capsule per day with meal.
